Upon greeting a colleague this morning, he told me he’d taken a longer route to work today in an attempt to search for Pokemon. After spitting out my morning cup of tea in surprise, I decided to interrogate him as to what on earth he was doing searching for magical cartoon animals from the 90’s. Pokemon Go, as it turns out is a game for smartphones utilising GPS tracking (similar to how a sat-nav knows where you are) to enable you to search for and ‘catch’ virtual Pokemon in real time on the streets of the Jewellery Quarter – and the rest of the world!
With further research, it’s very clear Pokemon Go has taken the world by storm and revived the Pokemon franchise in a big way – so if you are having a browse in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter today, and are shuffling between streams of suspect smartphone-locked Pokemon trainers, don’t be alarmed. Just keep very still and let them pass, as they may try to catch you by mistake!
Don’t forget Aardvark Jewellery are rare and antique jewellery specialists, we stock many things online and in-store you could catch yourself today. Plus our logo looks like a little bit like a Pokemon…
